"Put on a Happy Face" is a 90 print edition, consisting of 5 layers of letterpress (woodblock) and one layer of screen print on found paper. These prints represent Kayla's pushback to people constantly criticizing her work for being too "serious" and "depressing". By using a smiley face as well as the fragmented and misplaced letters of the phrase "Put on a Happy Face", Kayla takes a break from the theme of deeper concepts in her work to experiment and have fun with satire.
